My wife and I love this tandem. We have owned it since 2007 and ride on weekends together to our favorite lunch spots and home. Our usual saturday lunch ride is 35 km one way. After 70 to 90 km of riding you get off with very little discomfort. I am 58, 250 lbs my wife is 50, 107 lbs. We have had the bike upto 65 km/hr down hill with a tailwind and a fairing it handles like a ferarry at higher speeds ( my wife was not to impressed with the speed :)at least not as much as I was). I ride single on this great machine and am thinking of doing an few extended tours with it. We also own a ez3 trike,a folding dahon, a cat trike expedition and a cat trail all wonderful rides. Now the cons Not a great hill climber "BUT" I have only walked up a few extreme hills for a short distance at the beginning of the season, once the legs are inshape we can stay in the saddle for most climbs. not bad for riding in Victoria BC Canada. I would recomend the AX tandem. Young or not so young this is a fast safe comfortable head turner of a RIDE. The independant pedaling is a must and ensures a happy marriage.
