Cannondale's Synapse Carbon 4 is synonymous with speed and fun. Its carbon frame is light and lively for easy acceleration and climbing, while carbon's inherent vibration-damping characteristics soak up rough roads to make every ride smooth and comfortable. Complementing the great road feel is a natural riding position you'll love. You'll also appreciate the 20-speed SRAM Rival drivetrain with FSA compact cranks, the plush Prologo saddle and the sweet Mavic wheelset, which rolls as great as it looks.

Use this bike on long rides, to keep in shape. I test rode every brand imaginable and when I rode this bike, Immediately purchased. Relaxed geometry, great shifting, and very comfortable on long rides. The stock seat on this bike is awesome. If you are a mature rider that gets neck strain on long rides, search no further and buy this bike!!!!
This is a wonderful bike! I use it to ride group rides (like Ohio's TOSRV in May), and it's just perfect. The frame is quick, light, responsive, and stiff enough for good steering, acceleration, and control without being jarring. What a pleasure to ride it. The SRAM Rival components are very intuitive. I like the feel of Rival's shifting levers separated from the brake levers themselves. Shifting and braking are both smooth and accurate. I test-rode a lot of bikes before buying this Cannondale, and its ride blew away contenders like Madone (too expensive), a Giant, and a couple of Specialized bikes (that were too wishy-washy / swimmy in their handling).
After test riding many bikes in this price range I chose the Synapse 4 and couldn't be happier. I am a triathlete and this bike makes the long training rides a joy. An added bonus is how easy the bike climbs compared to my TT bike and it is almost as fast. Everything about the bike is quality. The people at Genesis couldn't be nicer, more informed, or more professional.
